Tu Parles Francais?

Since my brother just graduated from USC, my mom decided that we would celebrate by taking a weekend trip to Montreal, Canada. My brother is a HUGE boxing fan, so the fact that there was a fairly important match taking place in Montreal that weekend helped a bit. I struggled to get my papers and homework done before venturing over to our sister land, but I succeeded and was ready for the weekend.

I took French for 4 years back in high school, and I have visited France before, but I haven't spoken French in about 3 years. Now I knew that Montreal was a predominantly French speaking city, but I didn't realize the extent of it until we arrived. Lucky for me, I really didn't forget too much of the language and ended up speaking French for the entire 3 day trip.

My favorite thing about traveling is the architecture, and Montreal has amazing old cathedrals and European style buildings. I probably took around 500 pictures, which I cannot wait to upload and take a look at. Although I'm still recovering from jetlag, I had an amazing trip.

Now back to the real world.

What's A Girl To Do

Summer is slowly approaching, which means beautiful weather, relaxation, and an abundance of free time, right?

Wrong.

Excluding the beautiful weather, I could technically relax and be lazy, but since I'm ridiculously organized and always a step ahead, I'll be using my summer to study for and take the GRE and study for and take the SAS base programming certification exam, all while taking two online classes and working part-time. Could I be overwhelming myself with things to do this summer? Possibly, but at least I'll be keeping busy!

My brother is graduating from USC on Friday, my oh my how time flies! It seems like only yesterday he was throwing tantrums about bed time and video game privileges. I'm so proud of how much he has accomplished and how many wonderful prospects he has ahead of him. Go Trojans!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Is it May already? Where the hell did January - April go? Sadly, I miss the cooler air; hot weather does not agree with me and my un-air-conditioned apartment. Case in point: I went on a 90 minute hike with my best friend, even used sunscreen, and still got the worst sunburn I've had since LAST summer. My skin is painful!

Since the summer research program at Columbia didn't work out, I've decided to take things into my own hands and send my resume out to research companies in the area. The place I am most interested in is a research firm that specializes in roll over car crash injuries. The building is literally across the parking lot from my current work place, so getting a research position there would be amazing. We'll see.

Class workloads are starting to catch up with me...only a few more weeks of class until summer so professors are trying as hard as they can to squeeze as much information into you before finals. Ugh. Hopefully I can keep up (and  maybe even get ahead, but not likely).

Thanks for reading!
